Tips & Tricks
Add CrownHop to your home screen and use it like an app
Why add CrownHop to your home screen?
- Opens full-screen, like a normal app — no browser bars in the way.
- One tap from your home screen to search rides or check messages.
- iPhone users: phone notifications only work after CrownHop is on your home screen.
- After installing, turn on alerts under Profile → Phone notifications.
iPhone & iPad — Safari
Safari is the most reliable browser on Apple devices. These steps work on iPhone and iPad.
- Open Safari and go to crownhop.com. Sign in to your account.
- Tap the Share button at the bottom of the screen (square with an arrow pointing up).
- Scroll the menu if needed, then tap Add to Home Screen.
- Keep the name as CrownHop (or change it if you like), then tap Add in the top-right corner.
- Find the new CrownHop icon on your home screen.
- Always open CrownHop from that icon — not from a Safari tab — so it runs full-screen and can receive notifications.
iPhone & iPad — Chrome or Brave
On iPhone, Chrome and Brave work similarly to Safari for adding a home-screen shortcut.
- Open Chrome or Brave and go to crownhop.com. Sign in.
- Look for the Share button in the toolbar (near the address bar).
- If you do not see Share, tap the three-dot menu (⋯) and look for Add to Home Screen there.
- Tap Add to Home Screen and confirm.
- Close the browser tab and use the CrownHop icon on your home screen from now on.
Android — Google Chrome
Most Android phones use Chrome. Wording may vary slightly by phone model.
- Open Chrome and go to crownhop.com. Sign in.
- If you see an Install app or Add to Home screen banner at the bottom, tap it — that is the fastest way.
- Otherwise, tap the three-dot menu (⋮) in the top-right corner.
- Tap Install app or Add to Home screen (the exact label depends on your Android version).
- Confirm when prompted.
- Open CrownHop from your home screen or app drawer — it will feel like a normal app.
Android — Brave
On Android, Brave puts its menu in the bottom-right corner of the screen — not the top like Chrome.
- Open Brave and go to crownhop.com. Sign in.
- Tap the three-dot menu (⋯) in the bottom-right corner of the screen.
- Tap Add to Home screen.
- Confirm when prompted.
- Use the CrownHop icon on your home screen to open the app.
Turn on phone notifications
After CrownHop is on your home screen, enable alerts for messages, bookings, and ride requests.
- Open CrownHop from your home screen icon (not a browser tab).
- Go to Profile.
- Scroll to Phone notifications and tap Enable notifications.
- When your phone asks, tap Allow.
- On iPhone, notifications only work when CrownHop was added to the home screen first.
- If you blocked notifications earlier, open your phone settings → Apps or Safari/Chrome site settings → crownhop.com → allow Notifications.
